Medeco Medical Centre is a mixed-billing practice.
We are a Mixed Billing clinic, meaning all consultations (see exclusions below) are time-based and attract a fee. Fees are payable at the time of consultation by cash, credit card or EFTPOS. Accounts are unfortunately not able to be given. The doctors charge fees that reflect the time taken and the degree of complexity in each consultation.
If you have registered your bank account details with Medicare, we can initiate the Medicare rebate into your nominated bank account. To initiate the Medicare rebate patients must bring with them a DEBIT card as Medicare rebates cannot be processed using mobile phones.
For all payments using Visa/Mastercard a surcharge of 1.0% will apply, EFTPOS payments a surcharge 0.5% will apply and if paying via telephone (manual transaction) a surcharge of 1.15% will apply.
If paying by Visa/Mastercard you will need to attend Medicare for your Medicare rebate.
Accepted methods of payment are cash, EFTPOS, MasterCard or VISA.
This medical practice does not accept personal cheques.
Please check with reception or speak with your doctor if you are unsure about any fees.
Patients who will continue to be bulk-billed are:
- Children 16 years or younger
- Aged and Disability Pension card holders, and Defence Veterans
- Students with a valid student card (High School students only)
- Health care card holders
Patients seeking bulk-billing or concession entitlements will need to present their Medicare card and valid concession cards at their appointment.
For all new born babies who have yet to be registered with Medicare will be privately billed for all consultations with the doctor until Medicare provide the parents with the above requirements.
New Patients
All new patients to the Practice must personally attend the Practice in the first instance.
All new patients are to provide a Medicare card and a secondary form of identification will be requested upon completion of your new patient form (this excluding children under 16).
Should your doctor refer you to a Specialist or for investigations, a fee may apply.
